About

Hi there, I’m Stephanie Burns!

I’m a Registered Holistic Nutritionist that specializes in stress resilience. I am also happily married to a secondary school Principal and the proud parent of two hilarious school-aged kiddos. I am proud to live in the vibrant and beautiful City of Guelph, Ontario.

I had never attempted to cook until I was newly married and became bored when my husband was off playing soccer one evening. After that night it quickly became a passion of mine to always make sure we ate delicious homemade food. I took pride in having friends over to try my latest creations. Once my children came along and I was responsible for their nutrition I became interested in how what we eat can influence our experience. After losing my mother to Cancer in 2012 my food focus shifted more toward health and disease prevention through nutrition and the body, mind, and spirit connection. I became an avid meditator thanks to a wonderful mentor I met along my grief journey and that led to facilitating meditation classes of my own. Having experiencing unexplained health problems after giving birth to my daughter I became a ‘health detective’ and figured out that I was very deficient in nutrients and depleted from the trauma of the loss of my mom while simultaneously becoming a mother and giving so much of myself physically and mentally to my kids and my responsibilities.

I eventually discovered that there was an actual career where I could help other women pull themselves out of burnout like I did and enrolled in the Natural Nutrition programme at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. After watching my husband transition from the classroom to an administrative position while our kids were at their most physically demanding age and witnessing so many of our teacher friends struggle with the fatigue and overwhelm that comes with the job and the added stress of raising a family I knew that I needed to be a support to the teaching community…specifically the moms.

Nobody is responsible for the future more than teachers and moms.

I love teachers and have spent my entire adult life surrounded by them. Many of my friends in post-secondary at Trent University went on to be teachers including my husband, Joe. Then as we built a life together it was natural that many of his colleagues were part of our social circle. I was that non-teaching spouse who was sitting in a sea of teachers thinking “okay can we talk about something else soon?” but over the years I found myself being just as invested and interested in what was going on for teachers. Eventually, once I had friends, a spouse, and children in the school system I noticed how teachers need more support and somebody that is lifting them up.

I am very grateful that I have the opportunity dedicate my career to serving teachers who are shaping young minds at work while raising the next generation at home.
